I’ve been a traveler for quite some time. Well, I don’t travel twice a year, every six months, but I do travel quite a lot. I enjoy this hobby very much. And usually, I plan my own travel. I used to book full tours for my travel. Tours like full 10 days in a country, complete with hotels, bus ride and a local guide at every city. I don’t say those don’t give a great experience, but it’s different from traveling on your own. I guess you can see a lot more if you’re on your own. And no, it doesn’t mean you have to spend much more. You just have to figure out how to spend your money wisely.

But still, traveling on your own means you need to book a lot of tickets on your own. I didn’t do this because I didn’t think of it. But now I realize how important skip-the-line tickets are. Without a tour guide, you don’t know very well about the queue and the venue you’re visiting. You really need to get a priority pass or other kind of skip-the-line tickets to save much of your time.

I’ve done this kind of booking on metatrip.com (and about to do it again). It’s really easy to check and compare the price of some similar tickets/tour packages. Meta trip is doing it all for you. All you have to do is type the place you want to visit. They’ll show a bunch of tours and tickets from many other ticket providers. You can sort and compare the price and the package super easily. I like how they design how it looks. Plus I like blue (their logo and web color), so there’s that.

The first package that I bought is Universal Studios Singapore ticket and Gardens by the Bay tickets. Obviously, those are the gems of the country. And turns out, there are lots of packages like this. But I kept scrolling and searching until I find the one with the best price. I only need to click it and it’ll redirect me to the ticket provider web. Finding and comparing your own ticket packages on the ticket provider web is seriously taking much more time. But it all took such a short time for that many comparisons at meta trip. And on the day of my visit, I did save a lot more time. Because I didn’t have to queue anymore. I know maybe queueing isn’t the worst thing in the world, but it is very time-wasting. Especially when you’re going to places as crowded as these two.

I’m really satisfied with how they save my time even before my travel. I also just figured out you can check out more about the places you want to visit. They give useful information like the plug type of the country and parking area in theme parks. Though I think I’d love to see more recommendations on places to visit in one city. They usually explain the top 6 things to do in one city, and I think I’d love to see more, aside from the popular ones.

And for my next destination, I think I want to try booking the special tours in Paris. They offer tons of choices and combinations. I still don’t know what I want to do first but I think I’m going to look for a tour with a guide and a whole day of different attractions. I’ll let you guys know once I’ve done this journey.
